Headteacher's Welcome

A warm welcome from Westfield!

A warm welcome to Westfield Community Primary School.

I was thrilled to begin my work as Westfield’s Headteacher in September 2017 and I received a very warm welcome from the whole school community.

Westfield is very much at the centre of the community that it serves and relationships are strong. One of the school’s greatest strengths is its commitment to supporting its families. I truly believe that a safe, happy and comfortable child is one who will thrive and that family comes first.

I am very accessible and I have an open approach to my leadership of the school and I believe that face to face communication is the best way to celebrate success and address school improvement. I am ably supported by my Deputy Head and the Headship Team.

The school is fortunate to have a highly supportive Governing Body who work with me to ensure the school runs efficiently with a clear direction.

The curriculum delivered by our talented teaching and in-class support staff provides rich learning experiences and opportunities where every child gains knowledge and skills to understand and contribute to the world in which they live. The curriculum builds aspirations, creates a sense of belonging, develops talent and finds humour. The curriculum is enriched by specialist teachers, trips and a wide range of additional resources.  This curriculum that we offer ensures that our school vision becomes a reality for our children.

  • Achieve
  • Believe
  • Create

The Friends of Westfield are active in supporting the school’s vision and organise fun events and continually raise money in order to provide extra resources for all the children.

Thank you for visiting our website where you will learn about the dedicated team of staff who will do their very best to promote positive experiences for your child in school.

If you are looking for a school place, please telephone for an appointment so that you can judge for yourself by looking at the children in class and seeing examples of children's learning.
